What book are you reading right now?

I told you you can't go wrong with the book for me at least I preferred it over the other mentioned 2 although I haven't finished GoT and wouldn't touch it again. Glad you enjoyed it, maybe even give the games a go. The disappointing thing is you must wait for the rest of the books to be translated.

yea, that is kind of annoying. I bought the first 3 for the kindle so i will have the read really quickly. You know they are just gonna release one a year to maximize profits.

Yeah I like collecting my reads as paperback books which I've ordered from the UK for the Blood of Elves and Time of Contempt which probably won't be here till after December due to busy Christmas holidays now. Maybe I should go give the Silmarillon another read in the meantime. lol

Have you read the LOTR canon site? absolutely brilliant, although I read it years ago and currently can't find it. I enjoyed it so much more than The Silmarillon.

I have to admit that I prefer the LOTR over the Silmarillon due to the very different writing forms and the latter being more of a complex history book (but with short stories later on) than anything. Watching the LOTR movie also made somethings easier to understand with reading the LOTR book.

What is this LOTR canon site you speak of?

I'm unsure it exists any more. It was a site dedicated to explaining the ins and outs of LOTR. For example, it makes clear that the wizards are in fact non-physical higher beings, sort of like angels, but having taken a body, having left the Valour,  in order to be of aid to Middle Earth. I found it totally fascinating. I realised how well worked out LOTR is, and had the side effect of making me develope a distaste for the random, imaginative 'inventiveness' of Philip Pullmans childrens books and also Harry Potter books.

Brilliant and complementary, they're both must-haves for fans of the marque.
