'Leslie wasn’t taken with the track. “I hated it at first because it was so ****ing hard to play. There were intricate chords, not your usual four-trick pony, heavy riffs, a pretty section where Felix used a tiny keyboard like an accordion, and a recorder part for what shoulda been a flute in the middle eight. I was young and impatient at the time, and it was hard to learn the thing.' Classic Rock.
Hearing the guitar solo still makes the hairs on my neck stand up.
This is stunning, if you like this sort of thing...
"Keleketla! is an expansive collaborative project, reaching outward from Johannesburg to London, Lagos, L.A. and West Papua, “Keleketla!” started as a musical meeting ground between Ninja Tune cofounders Coldcut and a cadre of South African musicians (introduced by the charity In Place Of War), including the raw, South African-accented jazz styles of Sibusile Xaba, and rapper Yugen Blakrok (Black Panther OST). From those initial sessions, the record grew to encompass a wider web of musical luminaries, including Afrobeat architects, the late pioneer Tony Allen and Dele Sosimi, legendary L.A. spoken word pioneers The Watts Prophets, and West Papuan activist Benny Wenda."

I know I bought this album, but now I can't find it... darn. During the rabbit hole spelunking I was doing when I found Keleketla! I also found Moyo Kikagaku, also fun stuff.
For today:
I don't listen to this album often, but today it hit the spot.
