Best sounding CD version - not remastered. The sound is clear, balanced, no compressed instruments, no noise reduction tinkering. It's sometimes astounding to listen to 'some' initial/ original "undoctored CD copies & realize how great they sound compared to their remastered editions. This doesn't necessarily apply to all remastered albums but in this case, it most certainly does, IMHO.

Listening w/ HD800 > Airist Heron 5 > Teac PD-H600

In your personal quest for the perfect digital Floyd, try the new Japan Releases, you may find you like them. Best so far, for me anyway.

Floyd is funny too as small things at times can’t get recognized as to what they are. I’m like “ Oh......that’s a guitar, I always thought it was someone’s voice in the background?”

These are by far even better than the first editions to my ears. And they are not released as remastered but simply re-releases.
