still saving up... but for now i use some senn hd 202's hookes up to the headphone jack on my 20" trintiron t.v. ... to me the surround sound function seems to improve detail and fullness... i thought it was supposed to sound worse?

Thought I would add what I have done in the past day.

1) Got on my LP system and recorded a CD: Telemann "Trio Sonatas". A beautiful Telefunken record set. Pioneer CD recorder. Music Hall MMF5 turntable combo. Rotel phono stage.
Straightwire Encore II interconnects.

2) Grabbed my ER6's and went to the gym and listened to Big Band/Swing as I did my treadmill. Source was JVC minidisc that has a real high end sound. Really fabulous with the Ety's.

3) At bedtime, got the CD I recorded earlier on my Cambridge Audio 500SE CD player, which is directly connected to my Headroom Little (Premium) and Senn HD580's. WOW. Lush wonderful sound. Kimber PBJ interconnects.

No, I am not rich, just have nice credit cards. I figure I will die before they are paid off

Big bummer? Have a ringing in right ear that came from nowhere. That's life for this old fart.
