Most historical burger restaurant in the world
I recently visited New Haven, Connecticut and ate an original burger at Louis’ Lunch- the alleged birth place of the hamburger in the year 1900.
Mine was simple. Just meat and bread that’s it and it was fantastic because it tasted like chopped high quality steak on bread. Loved it.
I didn’t want cheese because cheese was not popular until around the 1950s. In the early days of the 20th century burgers were extremely simple.
Going back to the roots of the original burgers. Back in the days before fancy toppings
Outside the little place. Opened in 1895.
Here’s a video on it…….There’s also a Wikipedia page on it too
Some food historians dispute the establishment but they were at least one of the very early burger explorers in the very early days of the 20th century
