eating insect is quite common in some countries in South East Asia. Some insects such as lil' worms and grasshoppers are yummy.

When I went to Oaxaca Mexico a couple years ago, they served fried grasshoppers. I abstained.

BTW, I'm bookmarking those pictures for when I get the urge to over-eat.

Grasshoppers are actually quite good. I think they taste like peanuts. If you can get past the initial 'shock' that you are eating an insect, it's not bad at all.
I never understood why we (Americans) don't have trouble eating lobster, crabs, and other arthropods, but scoff at insects. They are basically the same thing.
I've actually been looking to buy insects to eat, but cannot find any distributors in the US that don't charge an arm and a leg for them. It's not that I'd make a diet solely of insects, I just like trying new things. Just had Marmite for the first time this year and I'm glad I did!

I tend to not like lobster and crab shell, nor do I like to eat their guts. Hence, I don't like eating insects.
