Any of the said above can be worn for many hours without discomfort.

U've tried XB700, u tot it was comfortable but u just audition it for few minutes. If you can give an idea where you would place them in the list, can it beat sony mdr-f1?

Update: As comfortable as DT770s are (and they are very much so), my new AD700s and 900s are even more comfortable. In fact, they almost feel like there is nothing on my head at all!

I have some Sennheiser HD555 and some Beyerdynamic DT-880 2005 edition and both are VERY comfortable. I've had some other headphones before and these are the best I have tried. I can wear them for hours without any irritation or what so ever.

I heard that the DT880Pro is supreme in comfort. Never tried that, though.
My MDR-XB700 with HUGE earpads are really comfortable, I fell asleep in these several times already. But I guess there are better phone out there, most of the listed here I have never tried. Or heard of.

I have a set of MDR-XB700 and they are very comfortable to me. Because of the HUGE earpads, your ears might get hot after prolonged continuous wearing.

Another vote is for the MDR-F1.

Most senn hd are comfy except the hd 25 which can be a pain if you have big ears (thats with the pleather pads, the velours are supposed to be better), to me the most comfy headphones I ever tried were the beyer dt770, those pads are heaven.

I tried Sony MDR-NC60 and thought they are extremely comfortable. How comfortable are Denon AH-NC732 compared to Sony's? Also, does Denon AHD1001K sound compare to Denon AH-NC732?

I am looking for the something as comfortable and better sounding for around $100. I see Amazon has great open box deals on NC60 and NC732.
