Hi there I'm quite new to this "high-end" in-ear headphone business but I have always appreciated good sounding headphones.
I am a mere 18 year old looking for the perfect pair on a $100 budget. This isn't the first time I have gone past the stock apple earbuds though, I did try out the Klipsch image s4 before returning them due to the quality of the cord, I then bought some shure se215s which I TRIED to love! i really really did, but the over ear style and the thick solid cord was extremely annoying so then i was forced to sell .
After many hours these past months searching through forums, reviews and lists I have decided to finally join Hi-Fi to try and solve my ordeal.
As for my taste in music I listen to things like house, metal, rock, hard rock, electronica, and some rap so I would like to get some in-ear headphones with clear mids and and highs for rock but also some deep strong bass for my electronic music.

I would appreciate any help and am open to any suggestions!
Some KEY things I am looking for aside from sound is the manufacturers warranty and extended warranties offered with the headphones. no over the ear please and durability would be nice since i sometimes have to stuff my headphones in a pocket between classes buss transfers and junk.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!!! :)

I will recommend the HSA Crystal, M4, Sony EX310, EX510, Turbine and HJE900. But if you raise your budget bit then JVC FXT90 will be great buy and they are very detailed in mids, highs with deep punchy bass and has wide soundstage.

Thanks for the great suggestions Zarim! May I ask what's the full name of the HSA Crystal and m4? as for the sony's is the 40 dollar difference worth it between them? Turbines seem cool i guess.. As for the hje900 .. Where the heck can i find them!?:p I would also like some earphones that I can buy from authorized retailers for warranty and peace of mind, never buying used headphones again (thats another story) . Ps. Sadly i cannot go over the lame 100 dollar budget, as a soon to be jobless college student i could barely afford this as it is! Keep the recommending please! ,

The best IEM's you can get right now under 100 is the Etymotic HF5's and Amazon has the cobalt blue for $89.99.  They're very detailed and once you change your EQ on your player the bass has nice depth and punch to them.  I have a pair and really like them though I'm listening to my new TF10's more now but the Ety's are still really good IEM's.  I've also heard good things about the Brainwavz M2 and they're $52.50 on Amazon.

HF5s without a doubt, they are pretty close to top tier sound.

RE-Zero

The RE-Zero will most likely not give the "deep strong bass" the OP wants.

I read joker's review on the hf5s and he,says that the bass isnt big or,deep, same with the re Zeros. Are you sure a simple equalizer will give me the strong bass I seek?

HF5s respond very cleanly to EQ. Also, if you simply use Shure Black Foams aka Olives on them, bass quantity increases a good bit as well.

+1 have have them and changing the EQ while even using the foam tips they come with helps the bass immensely.

Can someone please tell me where I can find a $#%^@g pair of HJE900 for sub $100 in the US? I see them recommended all the time and have been trying to buy them for half a year.

I believe through the for sale section here at head-fi. You could always try posting a wanted ad, my friend. You never know, someone may just consider selling theirs if they come across your wanted ad.

And to the OP, I'd suggest the Meelec CC51, or even Atrio X. I prefer the latter, for it's deep and powerful bass, but the CC51 is no slough either.
