What’s everyone using for desktop speakers?

Still using my B&W MM-1. I've heard nothing better for nearfield listening.
I've never heard anything throw a more realistic soundstage or imaging.

I have a really old Cambridge Soundworks subwoofer/satellite setup from the 1990s, before the brand was absorbed by Creative (whereafter it went downhill fast). They still sound absolutely amazing, which makes me sad that the input jack is getting finicky and likely to eventually fail.

2 x Mackie MR6 Mk3 class A/B active speakers + 1 x Mackie MR10S Mk3 class D active subwoofer

Sound is good, detailed, worth the spent. However, many companies are building about the same price/quality speakers, so can't recommend Mackie only, but I can recommend this kind of speakers for those looking for decent audio quality from their computers, no matter the manufacturer: 5-6" monitors with about 1.5 meters height stands and the optional 8-10" subwoofer.

Happy listening!

Genelec 8010a. I'd like more bass but the idea of having huge monitors right in front of my face seems like a bit much.
Great speakers! I have the matching sub under the desk.

LS-50s as my front L/R/Phantom Center with a Rythmik F12 with Wavecrest HVL-1 as surrounds, all driven by an Anthem MRX710 to help compensate for some tricky rooms.......I need to find someone who can come compare the Ascend Sierra II or some Genelec monitors to the LS50s, because those are the only things that I think could be better for me!

I got Jamo DS7, just to test them and damn. It was nice surprise, the sound is open and wide but with punch from subwoofer that goes almost down to 20hz. The bass kick is nice and smooth not that powerful but it truly goes down and makes your stuff bounce on the table. Now on sale in many places, no brainer for sub 400€. https://www.avhub.com.au/product-reviews/sound-image/jamo-ds7-wireless-audio-system-review-480132

The speakers I have my sub which I modified to be able to do this goes down easily to 17Hz & quite usable even below that. I have dialed in about 18db boost @ 17Hz through modification to the crossover. These speaker sound amazingly flat all the way down. Care has to be made not to overdrive them though. The amps are full D.C. coupled meaning they will amplify D.C.. This can bring safety concerns but it has been extremely reliable. The extra boost + the low frequencies it occurs at causes the woofer to loose most of it's back electromotive force so it starts drawing much more power than it would stock, closer to 500 watts instead of 300 watts. consequently I'm limited to about 90-95db output which is plenty loud that is once you factor in room gain which would put it near 100db. My sub is the Tannoy TS 10 subwoofer which has a very long throw driver & can handle these low frequencies very well at the levels that I use.

I was actually wondering how that worked out. Is it distracting to have the bass coming from under the desk?
It is the 6010/5040 combo I have (not the 8010). It works very well if you keep the sub volume quite low. My kids have now taken this combo for their PS4 which is also quite impressive for such a compact active setup.

Ascend Sierra 2. Although, they are behind me (TV) but used for everything PC. Love them so much.
Agreed, the Sierra 2 are a stunning pair of speakers for the price. I used to have a pair and regret selling them.

Hugo 2 direct driving an old pair of Wharfedale Diamond 1.
DIY cables are speaker wire, soldered to RCA plugs.
Drives them ok at blue/turquoise volume (probably 80 or 90% of max volume).
