Hey guys, I was at canjam, and while at canjam I basically asked to keep every tip I used (since they threw them anyway). This paid off for me because I did some tip rolling with my westone UM1's, and what really stood out to be as being the best was some tri-flanges I had. Removing the tip most part (bi-flange modded) seems to offer the best seal without the bass bloat, but problem is, I have no idea if these are etymotic or shure tips... so which should I buy? I know they stretch SLIGHTLY when you install them, but they fit and provide great sound and don't wear out (and to me they sound better than the comply tips). Unfortunately in modding I snipped a bit too close and the tip most flange has a bit of a hole in it, causing the seal to fail frequently.
(for whatever reason I can't seal at the ear canal, I have to do it where the ear canal narrows down in my ear)
