I see the Weiliang DIY products discussed some on diyaudio but not this model.. I notice it has a 3.5mm headphone out.. it doesn't say if it's a line out or amped though..  I have a dac/amp that has some hum when the dac part is used so I was thinking this might be good to use, I could run rca from it to the back of my aune t1 dac/amp.

I have the akm 4399 and like more the xmos usb input, but I tested only optical input with a samsung cheap blueray player.
Now I ordered the newest version with akm 4399 ak4118 dual r-core.
Yes, I like the sound of weiliang akm 4399 dac + ada4627 so natural and detailed, my best bargain in hifi

I have a Weiliang DAC9 based on the AK4399. I have purchased both the XMOS and the CM-USB Card, but neither seem to fit inside the DAC enclosure! There are just the respective holes on the PCB, no adapter socket or the like to fit the card. Even if there was a proper socket, the dimensions of either card are definetely too large to fit the enclosure. I am pretty confused as I have purchased a "finished" product. Has anyone had a similar experience? Neither the DAC seller nor the XMOS card seller (ebay:minishow0328) comment on the issue. If you have solved the issue, could you post a pic? I cannot imagine I am the only one with this problem...

Thank you! Looks like the pins of the card were resoldered vertically as well. Using foam to cushion the card in this unstable position seems a good idea. Still I have no idea why these Chinese DACs are sold without an option to have the card preinstalled. AND the enclosures are all too small, so the cards need to be resoldered. AND no seller makes mention of this mess anywhere in the descriptions. No way to grow a loyal customer base for sure...

the layout is just very, well, 'unrefined'. the power supply regulators are far away from the chips and the bypasses are too far away, just to name 2 obvious observations on the board layout.
so, what I'm saying is that it's a working config but its clearly not an optimal layout. to be fair, I don't expect expert layouts from ebay style boards and I knew it was a budget board when I was buying it.

 
It's prolly a great DAC if your main hobby is messing with audio circuits, this is semi-DIY at best as far as I can tell and I'd send it back for a refund if I were you.

I'm looking to get a cheap one to offset the workload on my current desktop setup - a Fiio E17 and E9. I want to get a proper desktop setup in the future but for now, I'm pretty broke so want a system that is pretty good for the money. I had the battery replaced on the E17 and I don't want to repeat the service any time soon hence the search. 
 
Anyway, any impression on this little doozy? could be a flop of course. But seems to have everything I need: usb input, optical or headphone out, RCA and can be used powered or unpowered with support for resolution of 24bit/192khz. DAC is nice as well, as it's the CS4398.
