Hey all! New here, and to the world of headphones in general. I've been looking around the internet and asking questions recently, and I was told that you kind people would be the best ones to help me out.

I've been using simple ipod headphones for a while now, and I'm tired of one of the earbuds going out after a week of use, and I want something a little nicer now. I'm willing to spend around $130.

Here's what I'm looking for:
-I want something I can listen to in public (this is why I was told the 518's are not a good choice)
-I mainly listen to classic rock.
-I also want something I can use for practicing guitar/piano/synth, and that I can use for recording/mixing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot

To listen in public you will need a closed can--the 518 is open and sound leaks from the backsides of its ear cups.
