Bravura owner and big progressive metal fan. From Haken to Leprous to DT , Haken, opeth… I will check SFAM FT at minute 6.

Lost Horizon - Highlander - that’s a great song and the vocals between 2 and 3 minutes are clean and don’t get harsh but bravura and vocals are a big match. drums and bass are hitting hard with a great timbre. great sounding record(I guess on most hp‘s)
Avantasia - Scarecrow- great song great vocals bravura pushes the song straight forward with a big depth and a deep reaching bass. vocals are clean with much space a separation between the band.
Allen-Lande - Come Dream with me good Russell Allen aka Symphony X . Hard hitting with beautiful sounding drum. vocals are great and the bass reaching deep.
DT- bass at minute 6 is clear and easy to follow Myung. but it’s overall not the best produced DT album Awake sounds so amazing on bravura.

Overall Bravura and progressive metal / rock or even death Trash hardcore(Kreator, Sodom, Biohazard,Avenged Sevenfold, Death….) are amazing on bravura. I had every Stax in the past(007,009,Lambda ,700 etc) but the bravura is far better sounding system. It’s not like other estats it has some sort of bite it’s more aggressive more bass deeper bass(big quality) and the midrange is just gorgeous.

Thank you so much for your kindness. Could you please check some songs when you have time?
1. Lost Horizon - Highlander
Please check the high tone of vocal between 2:00~3:00 and 10:30~

2. Avantasia - Scarecrow
Please check from 8:00~

3. Allen-Lande - Come Dream with me
Please check the overall vocals

4. Dream theater - Fatal Tragedy
Please check the tone and the details of the bass guitar after 6:00

I would like to thank you again for your considering.
So - I've reviewed the 4 pieces you mention - also with what you referred to in mind (tonality / "the closeness or forwardness of vocals(mids)"

I listened at around 1 to 2 o'clock - quite loud (for me).

First off - no clipping or distortion at any point - there was still plenty of headroom.

With your timing references, I think I could see what you were focussing on.

The upper end of the Bravura is exceptional - highly transparent, tastefully extended treble and absolutely no hint of harshness / sibilance - also plenty of weight and shape to the upper end - the mids of the Bravura are rich, expansive - and basically the vocals are really well presented - not overly forward - but prominent when required - and this music does need good solid vocal / mids presentation.

Loads of slam and thwack in the percussion - in fact, the lower end is also fabulous with the Bravura (and oft mentioned strength - which can be lacking in the electrostatic HP tech).

The Scarecrow sounds pretty damn fine - all the nuances of the recording are well represented - lots of layering and depth.

Another quality that benefits the pieces as a whol eis the speed of the Bravura (Electrostats generally are well-known for that).

No EQ necessary - which isn't an option with the Bravura anyway. And the clarity is top-notch - allowing me to hear every word and the colour of the different vocals / voices is specific - plenty of high level timbre truth.

Good luck and much fun with your music listening - that's what it's all about.

You will not miss the 009s I changed from the 009 and immediately loved the bravura’s. not that thin but all the goods from 009 with more bass.

I will seriously consider to purchase it.

Curious if anyone has experimented with the internal DAC in the Aperio as a source to feed other amps and headphones. Most of the discussion in this thread has been about using an external DAC with the Aperio system but I am contemplating the opposite - swapping in the Aperio system to replace my DAC/preamp. Has anyone tried to integrate the Aperio as a DAC/preamp combo and found it played well with others? FWIW, my current DAC (Wandla) is ESS-based as well.

bringing some life back to the thread, I'm no too far away from receiving my own Bravura system in silver.
I am beyond excited, the last e-stat that I heard was, I think, the Stax 009 and I was blown away at the time. This seems to be better though.
It's a great system for the price.

I'm eventually going to be selling my Bravura with a broken front switch (it still functions, just a cosmetic break) to help fund my Aperio GSE.
Nice discount if anyone is looking to try one!

hey guys need advice, i just got a bravura and i'm getting some distortion on my right earcup even if my volume is on 0. How do i begin to troubleshoot 2nd hand acquisition. Thanks.
6 months ago i found a pair of Bravura on sales for $3200 from AV Exchange

I had an issue with distortion on regular listening levels and powering off randomly.

Martin was kind enough to get me a repair under warranty all i had to do was pay for shipping.

This headphone system as its kinda all in one solution is easily worth what i spent even including the repairs.

Warwicks customer service went out of there way to help me with their product even though they didnt have too.

I think after the kid graduates college i'll pick up the Aperio, or maybe i pay for his master(probably not).

I'll come back in 2028 for an aperio update.

If you*re in Europe, hit me up for that Aperio - the one I'm getting is a demo unit because I just became a Warwick dealer for Italy and other EU countries without an official supplier :relaxed:
