Does the carrying case have a magnet inside it to seal it. You should hear a click if so. Otherwise most likely fake. Also they should sound like crap and have a small sound stage if they are fake.

Hmmm if you mean where it says 'Open here' then yes there is a magnet there and clicks into place. But I think it sounds bad (haven't burnt in), I would describe it as harsh and dont feel that low hitting bass.

http://s1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj491/soufis/?action=view&current=S1010034.jpg#!oZZ4QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs1264.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj491%2Fsoufis%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3DS1010030.jpg         ........ smooth S curves...thinner S and corners on the left box.

http://s1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj491/soufis/?action=view&current=S1010034.jpg         ......... angled ''R'' on the left genuine earphone

http://s1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj491/soufis/?action=view&current=S1010034.jpg#!oZZ2QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs1264.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj491%2Fsoufis%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3DS1010035-1.jpg      ......... angled 'L'' on the left genuine earphone(slightly to the right side).

DELTZ.....i 'am sorry but i believe you have a fake pair....because of all these external differences +  you don't hear the huge bass..i hope you didn't pay much...the weird thing is that they did a great work to the picture inside, that shows the head...color seems right...earplugs also look the same as the plugs on a genuine box.

No I am talking about the carrying case for the IE8s. Not the box.

Hello guys,

I have found on a forum a second hand pair of Sennheiser ie8 for selling.
The owners wants to sell them for 110$, but I dont know for sure if they are genuine or fake.
Can you please help me?
I have uploaded all pictures of the product here:

If he can't furnish you with a receipt from an authorized dealer don't buy it. There are just to many fakes out there. If you wanna take a risk and get burned, go ahead. I sold my used pair of IE8s for $250.00 so keep that in mind.

I've already asked for the receipt and he told me that he can't find the receipt because he "doesn't remember anymore where he put it", but he insisted that he bought them for an authorized dealer...

If this is the case he should be able to easily contact this dealer and get proof of a receipt. Generally businesses keep records for up to 10 years. Otherwise still sounds fishy to me.

deltz, compared to my pre-fake era pair, the only thing that looks any different is the Sennheiser logo on the plug but it could just be the picture.  Let them burn in for a day or two, I thought my IE8s sounded bad when I first got them and getting the right tips is key.

Do you have any other IEMS to compare them to?

TRANZY .......i think these are genuine like mine....mostly because of the angled letters''R,L''on the earphones....i doubt a little bit about the big box...the carrying case and cable look  also genuine....but who can guarantee you that he will send to you this pair and not a fake one?Maybe he has both pairs and took pictures of a genuine one....

Just a update, I've burnt the ie8's in a little more and they are sounding much better. I have had a chance to compare it to a fully burnt in Shure 535 and it just sounded so much better, much more dynamic and warmer than the ie8's, I also think the bass was tighter (but im still a audio noob!). I feel I have to turn up the treble on my poweramp app to make them sound that much better, they sound 'flat' without it. Is this the typical ie8 sound?

Well where did you get these IE8s from? If not from an authorized dealer then there's no way to be sure they are real to begin with. The IE8 should be warmer than the Shures that's for sure.

lol....I bought my IE8 for $150 shipped from Netherlands to Aus from ebay. They weren't fakes that's for sure because I took them into a local DJ store and compared them. Not to mention the serial sticker outside the packaging I emailed Sennheiser to verify from there records if it was a genuine (Sennheiser Europe) manufacture, it ended up being real, if any of you's really want a IE8, I might end up selling mine for $110....lol...they are not even seeing much use from me anymore after the first few weeks of use. Its just the hype wagon, you hop on it, but eventually get something better and you sell it off.

Thinking of doing the same with my FX700s. They really don't get any usage time and I don't see them as being better than my silver cabled IE80s .
