I have an M^3 and find it excessivly fatigueing with the 325i (with the opa627 opamps).

My Millett Hybrid works much better.

I know they are different animals, but I found the SR60 and the SR80
very congested with the two Millets I built as they didn't like low impedance headphones. I rolled the usual Millets tubes, with BUF634s and DBs as well. I am always surprised to read that the MH synergises with Grados that much.

I always liked the ASL MG Head Mk II with Grados. Never tried it with the 325i in particular, but the warmth of this amp did a great job at taming the shrill highs of other Grados, and IMO the 325i are the shrillest of the entire product line. So I think the MG Head would be a great match.

Seems like, as time passes, some of these old school amps tend to lose favor, or at least we don't see them being recommended much anymore. I guess that's just the nature of a hobby such as this where everything is always a moving target. But value wise, if you could find one, I'd imagine it would be under $200 these days, and well worth it IMO. Lots of tube rolling possibilities.

It means trying out different styles or types. Grados are greatly affected by the pad choice, so if you were experimenting, you'd roll pads, and find which one you liked the best, or what they did to the sound.
