no grado for metal - too bright...especially for black metal - oh god the pain. (black metal has a tendency of using bright guitar tones and spit-vocal is really whacky with bright phones).

hd595 - excelent for most metal, especially if its well produced.

id take them over any Senns for metal.

heard them and i prefer the DR150 over HD595 anyday.
