Ok thanks for your precious information. I want to buy this player as a replacement for nwz-f806. What do you think about that. Am i doing a good job?

Personally I don't think that the 886 improves on the 806 that much, and this is why I rather aim for the ZX1 or a new AK instead.

DrSheep can you make a comparison between both. I have the Z at the moment but I want something smaller, a snappier UI and a better sq (better clarity, detail, instrument seperation and soundstage).

The Sony XBA-H3 are 168.75 in amazon right now... I bought mine, should come in tomorrow, I will make a comparative against my XBA-30 on my f886 :)

Got my H1 for £62 and there aren't too many things that can be improved about them so I really wanna know if the H3 worth the extra £100 (or £200, according to Sony's own website), there are different opininons on their thread but I wanna hear it from someone who tries them with F886. Waiting for your reviews.

The problem is that I only have the F807 and AK120 (plus iDevices) at the moment, but from every post I have read so far for the 886 (even for the ZX1 to some extend) shows that they are not that different.  Besides, my XM6 is a beast of an amp with my F that the SQ from the combo is just crazy.  However, if you have a Z, then getting an F, old or new, make sense for your reasons listed above, but not necessary for SQ.

I own the  f806 for a year till the day the sound becomes defective, i send it to sony assistance and they are gonna give me back the money i spend with it. Because i like it very much and think that 886 is simillar with and has the advantage of hi-res sound, i think that i have nothing to loose. The zx1 is quite doubee price i think

I have the H3 since two weeks now. Listening to them from my Ipod Classic / Fiio E12 combo. Go get the H3 if you like engaging sound combined with amazing separation and good wide soundstage. They grow on me each day I use them a little more.

The 886 is a good middle ground.  And for the ZX1 you really need to think of it as a part of the PHA-2 combo to make any sense, as price wise it is already at the iBasso/AK/HiFiMAN range.  BTW, you don't need to worry about internal storage too much, and as long as it has WiFi with Android, you can get your files off a network share folder or a WiFi enabled harddrive.

definitly i can't afford a zx1 and pha-2, it is too much money for me. I think that f886 with h3 earphones is enough for me. What do you think about that combination?

That's good, as the 886 is based on the 806 with the H3 sort of based on the XBA-3.  Get yourself some FLAC and a good pair of tips and you are all set.

Because i'm from Portugal i think that i could't by the xba-40 from amazon in uk without paying the inyernational fees because they are shiped directly from japan and in that case i need to pay international fees and taxes.

Well here it is... so far it's dark, quite dark... I have to tame it with the equalizer from PowerAmp, I must say though that the bass is very dry once tamed, very nice, highs are a bit... high, but apparently for these headphones burn in is required.

They do fit far better in to my ears though, more confortables than the XBA 30s so far....

They sound a tiny bit more spacious than the XBA30, but they do excel at bass, which has to be tamed, but I like how precise it sounds once tamed...

Could somebody compare F886 to latest iPod Touch 5G SQ? I have iPod, which I find very good, as well as F806, which annoys a crap out of me with how slow the interface is. Trying to decide whether upgrade to F886 would make any sense.
