Hey all,

I have a tube amp and I'm trying to figure out what is causing the sound to crackle when I touch/turn the volume knob.

Would this be a grounding issue?

Any help would be appreciated!

The pot housing should be grounded.
Does it hum when touching the knob?

Crackles could be a dirty or bad pot.

Tune off the amp. Excise the pot 10X (min to max, max to min). Sometime this can cure it.

If the symptoms still exist, change it.
