I agreed. Perfect size to hang below my desk (without being in the way) with a console bracket. Perfect for leaning back in my chair with iem's and also the ease of access. Threw 2 dual burson v7 vivid in it and I'm amazed every time i sit down to listen.I swear the V222 was made to measure for me, it sits next to my Vali 3 on top of my Cyan 2 and the fit is perfect to the millimetre![]()

Be careful - the double v7s are too high current for the v222.
However, if you put one of the v7s in the socket next to the volume pot, and then use a pair of Burson's lower power v5i, you will get significantly better sound than stock. You're welcome!
Thanks for the head up. I'm pushing close to 1k hours so far with no issues. I was running v6 vivids before i upgraded to v7's. I take full responsibility.Be careful - the double v7s are too high current for the v222.

I am running a single v7 Classic. It really is quite an upgrade over stock. Thanks for the head up. I'm pushing close to 1k hours so far with no issues. I was running v6 vivids before i upgraded to v7's. I take full responsibility.
I am curious to hear how a v7 Vivid sounds, but I am just so happy with the Classic. So much texture and depth.

For those looking for the V222, Power Holdings has 3 Demo units for sale. The amp has been out of stock for close to 9 months, so if you are looking for this amp, Power Holdings is a great place to get one for a great price. I see people looking for this amp all the time, and just noticed that they have 3 units available.

I have the HPA V222 incoming this week
. Eager to find out how it will sound with the iBasso D16 as DAC and the JOAL. For those of you in EU, playstereo.com (Italy) has nice pricing on Violectric.

I couldn't resist the 25% off and full warranty. I will put the V222 head-to-head against my Schiit Mjolnir 2. The loser will likely be posted in the classifieds shortly. For those looking for the V222, Power Holdings has 3 Demo units for sale. Update: Could anyone provide an idiot's guide to which op-amps I should think about rolling to make the V222 as good as it gets?

I've rolled opamps in my V281 (line output only) and in the V280's headphone output. Same opamps each time: pairs of Sparkos SS3602s. Love the sound of these opamps.I couldn't resist the 25% off and full warranty. I will put the V222 head-to-head against my Schiit Mjolnir 2. - In both cases the already wonderful sound of the amp got a bit more wonderful ... becoming a subtly enhanced version of its OG sound, not a deviation in any way.
The other question to ask him is, "What will rolling opamps do to my warranty?" I don't know the answer, but I'd want to know it if I was purchasing a new, warrantied unit.

Now you have me really curious about wanting to do this to my V222. Could you spell this process out a little more for me? All the opamps in the V222 are dual and not single correct? So would I need Two Burson v5i dual opamps and one dual V7 Vivid ompamp?Be careful - the double v7s are too high current for the v222.

After a couple of weeks traveling with the iBasso DC07pro, returning to the Violectric feels like seeing the light again. I don't mean to say that the iBasso dongle is bad—it's actually very good—but the maturity of the Violectric plays in a different league. It's interesting how, in a direct comparison, it can be more challenging to listen to, but if you spend a lot of time with one device and then switch to another, that's when you truly notice the difference. In this case, the Violectric offers much greater layer separation and that void between notes that makes it truly special. Wonderful.

What amazes me is how switching from a tube amp to the V200 or V222 shows me how these solid state amps sound very close to tube amps. Truly extraordinary electronics that are so little considered by the majority, the market pushes very hard other brands. After a couple of weeks traveling with the iBasso DC07pro, returning to the Violectric feels like seeing the light again. I have a very similar perception when switching from the V280 or V281 to either the OTL (Woo WA3) or TC-tube amp, the Icon Audio HP8.What amazes me is how switching from a tube amp to the V200 or V222 shows me how these solid state amps sound very close to tube amps. Tube amps typically portray spatial aspects of sound in a large, spacious, expressive way (they really let you hear the recording/performing venue). Tellingly, they also typically do the "3D note" dimensional thing in an ideal way.
IMO the really good "tube-like" SS amps (including any number of Violectric designs) get the spatial thing mostly right: they sound more spacious and resonant (and thus, musically realistic) than the flat, "just the facts, Ma'am" SS type. I know of no SS amp that does the 3D/dimensional note thing in any way comparable to tube amps, but that's OK. The trade off is usually their better dynamics and power in the lower registers.
What would be a good DAC to pair with the V222? Currently I have a SMSL M300 MkI that I bought out of "emergency" when my Chord Hugo 1 failed and I've been running the M300 for 4 years now.
What I like in my sound is great detail and good bass (Can you tell I'm a cookie cutter audiophile?), I like a borderline clinical sound and being able to listen the nuance both in the treble and the bass. My main headphones are The E-Mu Teak and Hifiman Ananda Nano. I think they compliment each other quite well, and they will serve me well until I can get a heaphone that provides the best aspect of those signatures that I like into one place.
Budget is around 1k USD. For a while I've been chasing the ADI-2 DAC, but after reading the manual; and as much I would like to play around with all the features, I have been struggling to justify the price to play with the features once and then never again. I'm just not the correct market for a piece of equipment like the ADI-2...then again, maybe not for the V222 as well? I would like something with the "pedigree" of the ADI-2 but just a blind, boring box that I can hook up with XLR to the V222.
I also came across the Soncoz SGD1, that Golden Sound gave an excellent review...4 years ago. I have been having problems finding any support for Soncoz these days, so I'm having my doubts going with the Soncoz.
I also ran into the Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 and DAC-Z6 that I can audition on my city. The Eversolo DMP-A6 shares almost the same price as the ADI-2 and a PEQ, but without the niche features of the ADI-2. Then again...I really don't want a streamer, I play most of my music from Foobar and one or two albums that are just more accessible on Tidal. So the streamer capabilites of the DMP-A6 would also go to waste on me.
What else is out there?
Thank you in advance.
