Recently have a chance to compared the V100 and V200 in a dealer showroom. While I found the V200 definitely has more details, resolution, etc., I thought the V100 to have a fuller tone and more suited to vocals. Suffice to say the V200 does not appear to have a decidedly advantage over the V100 for my preference.

That said, I am not being conclusive because at the time of testing the V100 and V200 are hooked to different interconnect and power cables, and the V100 was running on RCA input while the V200 balanced XLR.

I asked a knowledgable person and he answered as follows:

"I've talked to people who feel V100 keeps up or is actually better than V200. Some feel it is more neutral. Other think V200 is substantially better. Interesting how we all hear differently. "

For those who have actually auditioned both, may I have some feedback of your impressions. Thanks.

The designer of the HD800 supposedly loves the V100 and used it heavily during the design process.

Does anyone know how the V100 compares to the meier corda jazz. Both german companies and I wonder of HD800 sounds similar on both amplifiers. Also I wonder how much a good source matters when listening to the V100 through the HD800. Anyhow I am considering buying the Jazz which is almost half the price of V100 for my HD800's and pair it with an M-dac. How much am I missing out really when it comes to sound with the Jazz vs the V100?

I did take V100 for some test 2 days ago. Indeed it is very solid. But I'm not sure if enough smooth for my taste. Do the burn process will add some nice flavour? After first 20hours bass is fuller. But still not an absolute sound (audio holy Grall)

I did make a tests with V100, is sound nice, but is to thin for rock music. I wonder if my teste is exagerated, or the popular tendency for transpart sound affect to this. I like to worm bass. With V100 Metallica drums sonded like little bongos.. Of course I also listen to classical music, acoustic jazz, I like all the nuances of natural music, and timbre of vocals. But with V100 I just coudn't find this 'weight of sound'
