I just got a Lake People DAC RS 06. First impressions:

- It's really small and light.
- It has really cool black anodized side panels.
- It's really, really quiet. I couldn't hear any hiss at all at high volume levels.
- It has a small turn-on transient (like a click).
- It has a small transient when selecting inputs (like a click).
- It has a medium turn-off transient. I don't think it would damage speakers, but it's better to avoid it.
- There's plenty of bass. I'd say it goes down to at least 20hz.
- I don't know how high it goes. I don't trust my ears to go above 15khz.
- I didn't hear any bumps in the bass.
- I didn't hear any boost or dip in the highs.
- I'd say it's pretty flat.
- I like it enough that I ordered several more to use with a digital crossover.
- I also have a V800 V2, which I use directly with active speakers, since it has built-in volume control. I haven't A/B'd the RS06 with the V800. I know you would like me too, but I'm very busy with work and unfortunately won't have time in the next month. They both sound flat to me, and I doubt I'll be able to hear a difference. Speakers and headphones, sure, but good DACs, no.
- Tested with Audeze phones, Violectric amp.
- Arthur at Violectric USA was awesome as always !
