Well I hope you have better luck than I am having. I placed my order back in January and they are still on backorder.

...Frank told me "soon" back in january, then it was "a few weeks"...blah, blah, blah. I guess 5+ months and still waiting must be somewhere within his definition of "soon"

...no I am not bitter...I am po'd!

I'm still waiting as well. Was also told they were backordered a couple months ago but that it looked like they'd go out around a month later... *sigh*

You know you can put Beyer pads on the 271S, right?

The K271 velours are the same velours that will also fit the K240, correct? So would that not mean if K271 pads can be put on the K240, and beyer pads can be put on the K271, then you can put beyer pads on the K240? That would be SWEET!! What are the specific beyer pads that fit the K271 and is there a link?

Yes, a link and info if you please.
My K240 Sextet is screaming for the plushness of velour

And if I'm not mistaken, beyer also sells pleather and leather pads!!! Not sure if they would be the same size and shape though, but that would be friggen sweet in case the velour did not provide enough bass!

I tried it with DT880 (the version discontinued about 18 months ago) pads. They barely fit but it can be done with a little patience. Maybe others tried other Beyer pads but, for all I know, there are other models that have the same pads.
They're thicker than the AKG pads which obviously has an impact on comfort as well as on sound. My head is large enough that the stock 271S barely fit and new Beyer pads ended up being too thick for me. Maybe I should try again with broken-in pads.

What do you want a link to exactly?

While having owned k271, I'll adnmit to not turning out to being a fan. My best performance was to use thinner foam with them and Beyer Velour pads (but my music preference is classical/jazz)..........only use the AKG Velours on k340 (IF you could use Beyer Gen. Leather pads on k340 it would probably be a great match - but, you can't).
