I''m trying to purchase velour pads for the HD 25-1 and Senn is telling me they don't exist. Can anyone shed some light on this? I'll wait until I get some info before I call. Hope this is the right forum to post this in. This is the email I received this morning from Sennheiser.

Hello
Thank you for your inquiry and interest in Sennheiser. We do not manufacture a velour earpad for the HD25. I apologize for the inconvenience. The HD25's are a sealed, closed headphone, and in order to best seal the cup from the outside environment, leather is used, and is thus the only choice we offer.

Just got another email from Senn stating the pads are on backorder. This is really annoying!

That first email is total BS. They have pleather pads, not leather and there are velour pads for them and they give a pretty good seal too. I know, I have them on mine.

Hope that backorder doesn't take too long.

Nah, I called and this guy admitted they're made, just not available in the states so I shot an email to Meier Audio, maybe I can get a pair from him. Velour pads, should I get the HD 580 or the ER4p, should I sell my ipod and p/u a 5G 60GB????? There's so much going on right now, I feel like I have headphones, dap's and various accessories spinning around my head like planets! Ahhh, life is good, no?

Just got an email from Eric apologizing for the mis-information. The pads are available in the US afterall and are on backorder for 2/3 weeks. Think I better order two.

Did he also apologize for saying the stock pads are leather?

Yes that is a thing I don't understand either. Now it's the earpads it seems. AFAIK when saint-panda bought a HD25-13 cable it was on backorder from Sennheisr Gemany for three weeks. I ordered one about two months later, and guess what ? Sennheiser Germany was out of the HD25-13 again, backordered for three weeks again

Bogus, Bogus , Bogus...........I have a pair of HD25 Velour Pads right here. Got them from Senn. in three + weeks. It seemed everything I asked for had to be special ordered from Germany..........but I got them. The Pads were $12.97 + shipping......going to order another pair for a hybrid HD25 project. Also, had no problems with the young lady who took my order, she had the stock # at her fingertips and told me immediately they were not in stock and would have to get them from Germany....it was Brenda.

.........copper-cored cable that has proper connectors for HD25 is Senn. stock #37974. This is a 3m cable, so you will want to get a plug, cut the cable to your desired length....and get out the soldering iron.

Nah, he probably meant he was into leather but really, I spoke to five different people at Senn today and while they were very nice they all seemed to be a bit

Anyway, my pads will be shipped on the 29th and I'm getting another pair from a fellow head-fier so......Alls well that ends well!
