Velour (701) pad cleaning. A response from AKG

My 701s are a year old and I wanted to clean them. This is the reply from AKG, hope it helps others.

Thank you for contacting AKG.
The ear pads of your K 701 can be cleaned as follows:
Wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth. In case of heavily soiled pads use hand
warm soapy water.
Carefully squeeze the ear pads in it. Afterwards rinse with clear water.
Let the pads completely dry out before re-mounting.

Yes, the solution is to buy an older AKG.
