Vegan friendly headphone list

I added all the audeze LCD cans. Another glaring omission sorry. I just confirmed with audeze that all of them can be ordered leather free and they will change the pads and headband and use an animal free / vegan material. Interestingly they said their ceo is vegetarian. PS. If the site doesn't let you choose leather free just ask the dealer to order leather free.

Guys good news I just found out that HEDDphone is probably vegan from the Canadian distributor Peter Fan. I am clarifying that he doesn't use egg protein leather before I add it to the list.

Guys gotta apologize it seems audeze actually uses 'egg protein' leather in their leather free models similar to Final audio for the d8000. So I have removed them from the list. I did send an updated letter to them asking them for a truly animal free version. It seems strange to me to offer this as an option when its still animal material derived.

Dang - I was very, very close to going for the LCD-XC 2020 carbon revision for my next set of cans.

It really does seem weird that they used to have vegan pads, and now they don't have a vegan option at all.

Oh well.

Still hanging out to hear the Audio-Technica ATH-AWAS, which I believe are fully synthetic leather and might qualify for this list, same as the ADX5000.

This seems quite odd as their website listed the option as “vegan.” Did they just not know? Like two-fires my very next purchase was definitely the XC!! I feel like if Audeze uses the egg protein it is likely a lot of those that are listed as non-leather may just use this option and aren’t transparent about it.

Guys I just got word from 'Mark E.' at Audeze that their current leather free headphones don't use egg protein anymore and are instead using polyurethane based faux leather.

"Thanks for reaching out. Our current leather free headphones use a Polyurethane based faux-leather material and are animal free.

I hope this helps!"

GREAT NEWS!

I talked to 2 people at DCA... maybe it was Dan and his wife? The head band is real leather and for this run he is not able to do synthetic. Hopefully for future runs though.

Aurorus Audio's headphones are vegan. From their website:

We've made an effort to keep these models free of all animal materials, utilizing a combination protein leather, synthetic fabrics, resins, and metals to create a headphone that should easily handle normal wear and tear for years to come.

edit: Oops, I guess they're not quite vegan. See smodtactical's post below.
