I'm looking for a good quality outer-canal phone for around $50 or less. By outer-canal I mean a design that doesn't seal deep into the ear but does insert shallowly into the canal opening.

I'm going to buy a pair for my wife and a pair for my sister. Comfort and convenience are key for them.

1. The Sony EX-71 is an example but I've had terribly luck with durability on the Sony Fontopia line. Not going back to that well again.

1. As far as I can tell, the Sennheiser CX-95 also fits this bill, but I'm not completely sure this isn't a full fledged IEM. A little out of the price range but I'm flexible if there is a clear advantage.

1. Creative EP-630 looks like a contender.

Are the Nuforce phones not a full insertion IEM? It appears to me they are, but I've never seen in person.

Soundmagic PL30/PL50 are pretty shallow in terms of fit. Extremely comfy, too.
