Consider saving some money and getting a clear (but not mind-blowing) improvement over the Sony's: the Creative EP630s. Similar form to the Sony's, except for a more conventional "Y" cord instead of the asymmetrical Sony cord. Build quality better, and more durable. Ample bass.

I couldn't agree with you more.

The Creative EP630 for US$30 at most retailers offer amazing sound isolation and very good sound quality--to get any better requires a pretty big leap up in price.

The X3s seem plenty strong, as long as you aren't really hard on them, I suppose. I have never owned any UE phones, but I don't think the X3s will disappoint you.

Hello once again,

Having looked at the MylarOne X3's, they don't look too strong...are they? I'm never really very careful with earphones lol, probably why my sony are falling apart..

Also, I was looking at Ultimate Ears Metro.Fi 2 & Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 3. What do you reckon? I can get Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 3 for the same price as the vibes, but the Ultimate ears look less fashion concious and more concerned with sound quality lol. Read in a few reviews that the bass of the Super.Fi 3's is somewhat weak..is it exceptionally weak, or just a little?

Thank you once again

P.S. I'd like to apologise for my continious questions, just the first time i've decided myself on what headphones to get, thought it best to get some info to help my decision.

I agree with that too, but why have you scratched the X3's off your list. They sound tons better than the super.fi's in my opinion and the E2C. I really think you should look into them. Not very many people are dissatisfied if at all.

I have the vibes and have had nothing but problems, such as no , bass , extremely loose and poorly made ( the black bits on the back feel like they'll fall off soon) and they feel one sided 60% of the time . I think I might go for the MylarOne's but DiscountDiscs don't sell them and I don't think ill get a refund , just a replacement. I went back to my CX300 , and my god they're awesome they sound so much clearer and fit much better .

Yes the Vibes just aren't a very great pair of headphones IMHO.

I haven't heard the E2Cs but of the IEMs that I've recently owned in the past couple years:

Senn CX300
Vibes
Westone UM1
and most recently MylarX3

I'd have to say the UM1s and MylarX3 are about equal sounding but they have really different sound signatures. Mylar X3 is definitely superior for hip hop, pop, and bassier music. I think the UM1 is a little more detailed.

The vibes IMO are soo much worse than both the UM1s and Mylars it's not even funny.

And just a mention of durability/looks. The UM1s you really can't see in your ears very well. People always talk to me without realizing that I'm rockin out. They also seem pretty durable as I've accidentally had them yanked out multiple times. The Mylars I haven't had for more than a couple of days and they seem less durable and cheaply made.
