Can the Headroom Ultra Desktop amp be used as a DAC with another headphone amp, say like a Woo 6? Specifically, I'm interested in using the DAC section of the Headroom desktop amp with another headphone amp using the analog output of the Headroom desktop amp...
Has anyone tried this kind of setup? Thanks.

Doesn't the Woo 6 have an input stage? If it's a typical headphone amp, then it is designed to take a line level signal. Almost every headphone amp is designed this way.

Running the preamp out into another amp would give you a signal chain like this:

Preamp --> Preamp --> Amp

You only need one preamp in the chain. Adding another will increase distortion and may give the second preamp more input than it is designed to handle.

Why would you want to do this, anyway? Are you trying to get crossfeed on a second amp? Looking for a multiple source selector? There are other ways to accomplish these things.

That's what I figured. I thought maybe Ultra Desktop had a passive line-out but that appears not to be the case... Thanks.
