Where to buy? How much? Can I build?

I have two left over JBL Pro IIIs that I'd like to take off to College with me....

Some quick specs:

Quote:

• Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms
• Woofer: 5" high polymer laminate
• Tweeter: 1" pure titanium
• Frequency Response: 65Hz - 27kHz
• Crossover Frequency(ies): 3kHz
• Sensitivity: 87dB (1 watt/1 meter)

I don't know how good JBL Pro IIIs are but if they're nothing special and you're looking for something cheap get a receiver or amp of ebay. I've seen decent 80s receivers of there for like $15 plus $15 shipping. Can't beat that, unless you find one in the trash. Heck, I power my Klipsch RB-35s with an over 18 year old Harman/Kardon PM 665 receiver. It was like $800 new but eh, I got it dirt cheap several years back it from a friend's friend. People unload good stuff cheap all the time.

Um... I was thinking about something *smaller* and... less elaborate... and less expensive? Lol if that's possible...
