For one of my tube amps, I use it for speakers and I like to fall asleep to music. I have a timer that can turn off the amp after I fall asleep. Is this ok for the amp?

great idea, what timers do you use? how to use them?
is it like a switch that cuts off the voltage after certain amount of time?

Sure. It will cut off power just the same as using the power switch.

Thanks. This is the timer I use for my bedroom amp at night while dozing off.
I think I paid about $7 for it at my local supermarket.

Of course though, you can also use it for Christmas lights too which is why it was being sold at my local store.
