Folks,

I known this has probably been asked and answered a gazillion times, but is there an audiophile-quality usb to spdif converter that will pass a 24/96 signal? I am aware the the Benchmark USB Dac will do this but at the moment am just looking for a converter rather than a DAC.

E-MU 0404 USB outputs 24/96 through it's TOSLINK and Coaxial digital outputs.

I don't know if it's what you would consider "audiophile quality" though.

Empirical Audio's Offramp Turbo 2 has USB to S/PDIF and 24/96 support.

There is a cheap 24/96 usb to spdif card from musiland called the Lilo III, maybe worth checking it out... less than $50.

You get what you pay for! I heard some of the Empirical Gear at the San Jose meet. Very impressive, very musical.
