Its not that usb sounds bad, its that putting a clocked hub with high speed isolation before the usb receiver sounds much better ;]Well people who tried best usb decrapifiers were saying that Usb sound much better in such situations. Just very costly to overcome harsh usb nature.

Ye, but if 1 dont have any of those then optical will sound quite a bit better. Its not that usb sounds bad, its that putting a clocked hub with high speed isolation before the usb receiver sounds much better ;]
My setup is an optical converter which connects to mojo.
If you have good usb isolation, then optical might not sound too much different.

High speed usb galvanic isolation is expensive, but using usb you get significantly higher bandwidth than optical, asynchronous transmission to the dac chip, signficantly less jitter, better timing, etc. What I've noticed though is usb isolation is really only necessary when using a source with a large smps. for me using htpcs an uptone iso regen before the dacs builtin amanero usb to i2s board has been very effective, and sounds much better than using either the motherboards optical, or a separate usb to optical converter, even a good one at that.
