I have a Belkin usb (F4U040) hub that I have been using on and off with my ODAC. The hub has an external power supply. When I unplug the power supply from the hub, my ODAC still gets power from my computer. I assume that when the power adapter is unplugged from AC, the Belkin usb hub acts as a passive hub and draws it's power from the computer's usb bus.
My question is when the hub is connected to the external power supply, is it still receiving power from the computer? Or does it switch purely to the external power supply? Or is it a mix of the two (pc and external power)?
