Interesting..is their a program that encodes FLAC to mp3 only when transferring to the ipod?

foobar2000? hehe
if u use itunes then it can encode into mp3 from ALAC (which is pretty much identical to FLAC, but i prefer FLAC over ALAC especially in foobar2000 player)

I've got foobar2000 downloaded, as well as FLAC frontend. Though when I go into foobar and select file>audio cd>rip cd>select FLAC>Ok then select a folder it tells me to locate FLAC.exe . I'm not sure how to or even if I have it. looked on the site and downloaded flac-1.2.1b.exe and installed it but it still wont work.

Any chance I can get a nudge in the right direction?

yeah 1.2.1b should have FLAC.exe look into the FLAC installed folder. The same applies to LAME etc, but LAME only goes upto 256KB/s in foobar2000 and u need some special command to do it, wasnt clear enough for me i still have no idea
