I've had my Pistons for a while now and I like them very much.
In the quest for better sound though, I'm wondering what the next step up would be if I wanted a hybrid IEM.
I'd like something that preserves the balance of the Pistons but is...'better'.
I'm wanting a hybrid because I want solid and deep bottom end from a dynamic driver and the detail and finesse that comes from a BA.
I'd like to shy away from customs because of their cost but wouldn't mind interchangeable cables if that's in budget.
Budget would be up to about AU$400 (US$ = AU$+8c).
Now, the Pistons are incredible for the money so if I need to spend more than the $400, just say so.
I run the Pistons straight from my iPhone 5 and playback Apple lossless files and I listen to everything pretty much.
I listen to a full valve home amp and Martin Logan electrostatics at home.
Thanks everyone.
