I have these:

-Topping A30 Amp
-Topping D30 DAC (Plays DSD files...incredible sound)
-ATH M40x

I'm looking for something good for spacial music, guitars, soundtracks...Pink Floyd type of stuff.

I was thinking of the AKG K7XX, looking at the $200 price range.

How important is bass to you? The K7XX is a little light on bass.

Not too important for what I'm looking for, the M40's have enough bass for electronic music that I listen to.

But I also EQ everything, so I am sure I can get a bit of bass out of those AKG's,

I'm mostly looking for clearity, something much different than the M40's.

I want certain headphones for certain genres :)

And now that I can play DSD files, I really want to hear everything DSD can offer. The M40's can only do so much...they were $150.

I asked the same question once. AKG K553 was the suggestion.

You need closed back headphone?

AKG K7xx is one of the very best in that price range for all of that, it just has some QC inconsistencies from what I've read (the one I had was fine thankfully).

Open back, neutral, spacious, good for rock, I think you also want to check the DT880 250ohms Pro.

I've had both the DT 880 and AKG K7xx for what it's worth (and at the same time). Both are good choices, the DT 880 has slightly deeper bass extension while the K7xx has more detail retrieval and bigger sound stage. I preferred the K7xx overall by a slight margin, though for Pink Floyd it'd be a very close contest. DT 880 has considerably better build quality if it matters.

I'll check those out for sure, but a 3M long cable...DAMN.

I can't help you with cables, I only buy studio monitoring headphones, they all have long cables. ^^

Well... maybe there is a bluetooth headphone that could fit the bill.

Awesome, that's what I'm looking for. A wide soundstage open-back, I have a dark side of the moon dsd file that needs to show it's stuff.
