I bought my first Klipsch earphone the x10 about 8-9 years ago and just loved it. about 3-4 years ago I upgraded to the x12 it felt pretty similar. unfortunately, a few months later I lost it while traveling. So I went back to using the x10. But it started showing its age a few years later as audio would cut off randomly due to some issues with the cable.
I was looking to get a new pair of headphone as saw some good reviews for the 1more quads and bought it. it sounded ok at best and the fit was crap, it kept falling off no matter what tips I tried. I didn't return them as I was going on a long trip and be stuck without headphones so I kept using them.
About a year and a half later it feels like one of the drivers has malfunctioned in one ear. I got a good deal for Klipsch x6i in early 2021 (50pound New) it made me realize what I had been missing out on. So currently, I'm trying to buy an x12 but can't find any available (some Bluetooth neckband versions are available).

So if anyone that used the Klipsch x12s could please suggest any other alternative with a similar sound signature it would help me greatly.

PS: I'm not an audiophile and don't really know how to describe sound signatures and stuff

I never heard the X12's but given their design they appear to be either a very small dynamic driver OR more likely a BA type. Given they were touted as 'reference' (from what I can recall) they most likely have something like a diffuse field type of tuning.

I would probably recommend something like the er2se (or er2xr if you want a little more bass). Both are well regarded iirc. Plus I think you can use your Klipsch ear tips on them if you don't like the etymotic ones.

The kb ear neon is also an option.

The Klipsch X12i was a single balanced armature IEM that was pretty well liked a few years ago. For whatever reason, Klipsch stopped making higher end IEMs and now only sell lower end dynamic driver models. I agree that Etymotic is a good option for replacement. I would recommend the ER3/ER4 series if you like balanced armature sound.
