I'm trying to decide which open back headphone i want to buy next.

I've used my Fidelio X2 for 3 years now with my Fiio K5 & E17 combo, i'm satisfied, but it's time to upgrade.
I liked the signature of the X2 with the fun sound and bass, but also liked the soundstage of the HD598 which i had before the fidelio.

So the question is, would one of the Sennheiser headphones be a good choice, especially speaking of the new one, the HD660s, and many mixed things about the HD700. Or do you have other recommendations?

I've read many good things about the Beyerdynamic dt1990 too, but i dont know if the Beyer sound is for me or not.

Are you planning on keeping the X2? If not, and looking to sell it to put that money towards a new phone, you may want to consider the HD660S. The HD700 I wouldn't describe as a 'fun' headphone, it can be very much analytical though has a warmer signature, with very tight bass. It would be a great compliment to the X2.

I'd say a big upgrade from the X2, would be an LCD2C.

Have heard good things about the 1990, but you may also want to look into the Amiron Home from Beyerdynamic.
