Hi..I Currently own the Fiio BTR7 and enjoy the sound and the portability. Feeling the itch to upgrade. How would the Shanling H5 be in comparison to the Fiio BTR7 ? Cant find much info online on the two as a comparo. Any suggestions ? Thanks.

Buy the H5 and you will forget that you ever owned the BTR7. The H5 is orders of magnitude better on every level. Hurry up and scratch that itch… you’re missing out on the next big step of your audiophile journey!

Ugly tho would he be better picking up a used Fiio Q5S eBay for under $200 or the newer tech Q15 would be a better buy for $399 SNR <129.

I have both BTR 7 and H5, if you need, go for H5 with eyes closed - Worth the features it offered. For Q15 omits optical IN as well no Micro SD Dap features.
Q15 comes with top end AKM though.

But at any cost don't go for used Q5s due to completely EOL battery unless it recently swapped with new one and you got proof of that.

A swap is cheap and easy.. Infact you are creative enough you can prob fit a larger size mah battery in.

My personal unit with a recent battery swap from an old Pixel 3 phone. The original stock batteries are junk.

$25 for a brand new battery if you prefer to go that route 4500mah vs the orginal is 3800mah:

The newer Q11 might be a better purchase for $100 if you can't get Q5s used:
