Keep in mind that the monarchs are hu-yuge, part of the reason why I went with the Voyager 14 instead, 14 armature but size of 3 armature iem. Monarchs sound similar to MEST besides the bc mid element. I think the MEST are bigger than V14, smaller than Monarch. So it’s in between in size/comfort, which is a huge factor for me personally.

Thanks for the info; I thought I'd worry about size later, but it's probably best to think of it first.

I have medium sized ears and no problems fitting the Solaris 2020's. The Blessing 2's fit fine as well, although they do stick out far.

There are so many great IEM's in the $700 to $1500 range! Hard to narrow it down to 5, much less 2.

Cable is CEMA Tianwaitian.
My stock UM MEST cable is currently not being used since it’s 4.4mm terminated.
Thus I cannot establish any comparisons.
How does the Tianwaitian cable compare to the Totem?

How does MusicTeck work with customs? Same experience or is customs a different ballgame? How long would you speculate/know is the build time on the MEST in custom?

YMMV, but it was about 3 weeks from receipt of impressions to getting them in hand in USA for me. I sent them 3D scanned files of my impressions to speed up process.

Got to try these again today, this time in blue :)

Superb iem. Somehow sounds warmer than the one that @tgx78 has, but my memory may be playing tricks on me (audio memory).

I liked it even more this time because I did have issues with brightness prior.

Wow! that blue / carbon combo looks stunning 🤩

I do actually find my set little bit bright especially switching back and forth from the Volt.

However I listen to mostly classical music so I do love bit of brightness contrasting with this insanely dark background. Instruments just pop out of nowhere from this darkness and shimmer like no other IEMs in my collection. 👍

Would you tell me please how Mest and Volt compare in terms of clarity and soundstage, especially in height?

It seems like my mood and level of tiredness affects how I perceive the MEST more than with most other IEMs. Sometimes it’s magical, sometimes it seems a bit too thin and bright. Soundstage and imaging are always superb though.

MEST definitely draws bigger picture in terms of soundscape. Clarity is also more immediate and apparent, but I slightly prefer the Volt’s delivery where details are more supportive rather than upfront of every notes. Speaking of notes, Volt has more note weight and feels more lively and natural whereas with the MEST I feel like i am constantly monitoring. Long term listening definitely goes to the Volt with smoother highs for me. Depression near 500Hz gives MEST cleaner bass presentation and darker background but Volt overall has more organic and impactful bass. They are definitely complimentary to each other.

Thanks a lot. I guess it doesn't make sense for me to buy the Volt because the way you describe it I feel they are close to my Clairvoyance.
