I've been using my 3DT daily for about a month now. Before I received these, that's what was in my rotation:
* Thieaudio Clairvoyance (superb, flat-ish sound but still extremely pleasant. Large shells. Still, really, really high quality IEMs)
* CFA Andromedas (beloved for good reasons. Fantastic for guitar and heavy music with a great midrange and easygoing overall tonality. It's technically proficient, as its pricetag suggests, but doesn't make it its only or main thing. Really great)
* Noble x Drop K10 (I kind of see them as intercheangable with the Andros... don't ask why. That midrange maybe, or 'wall of sound' type signature. Very good, but not ones i( find myself using a whole lot)
* Fearless SF8 (good but I always wished for more midrange on them)
* Dunu SA6 (seemed pleasant but I only had them a few days before my 3DT arrived...)
... and then the 3DT made a lot of these obsolete. It's so weird. 3 dynamic drivers while I'm now used to multi-BA setups + I'm totally not a basshead; but somehow, they really work great for metal and guitar music.
Yes, these other IEMs above are probably a little better on the technical aspects. They're also more expensive - the 3DT are the cheapest of the bunch in fact, but they're just really, really good. But for the general sound and enjoyment, the 3DT are just... more me.
If I had to keep 3 IEMs, it'd be the Clairvoyance (for the versatility and cleanliness), Andromedas (for the generally pleasing and easygoing tone) and 3DT (for everything). And of course the Etymotic ER4XR because there's just really no point in getting rid of something this small and this good
