Hey,
At first thx for viewing the thread, hope you can help me.

I'm looking for a headphones good for electronic and hip-hop music. My budeget is about 200$. What do I expect?
-Good, (quite) strong bass, going down deep
-Not too harsh highs
-Not too bright
-Closed

I've got Alessandro MS1 and I'm very happy with them for rock music. I'm quite a fan of them

But I find them unsuitable for electronic music.

I also have Koss UR-29 (bought them before knowing your community ; ) , still I like them better than eg. Senns HD202 ). That's my main comparison "closed vs open back headphones", and I think I'm looking for more closed HPs sound signature.

Here're HPs I'm considering:
-Ultrasone HFI 780 (unfortunelly no way to check if I like Ultrasones sound)
-Audio Technica ES7
-Beyerdynamic DT 770 (or Pro)
-Sennheiser HD25-II
-Maybe some in-ear headphones, although there're very few good ones sold in Poland)
-the list's open

They're going to be driven by Prodigy 7.1 HiFi soundcard, maybe my Denon PMA880R once I repair it and sometimes by my sony mp3 player.

Thx for all constructive replies
Have a good day

I'm recommending the Ortofon O-One to everyone, in case you haven't noticed heh heh. Made by Ultrasone, voiced by Ortofon. Styling by Ortofon. I should mention I've not heard the 650 or 580, but the Ort is only going for $130 online. So along with the ER4S, I think it's a hell of a bargain. If the Ixos was still made, I'd probably regard them as the trinity of great buys in headphones.

I've heard good things about the DT150, but haven't heard it.

I think the DT880 works well with electronic, but the bass quanitity might not satisfy you (it does satisfy me).

D2000 would also be an option.

DT150 for sure. I used the DT100 at a radio station and they sound very unusual to my ears. You can get the DT150 for around $120USD used on the For Sale forum here at Head-Fi. These were definitely the best cans for hip-hop that I've used.

Beyers DT150 an Ortofon O-One cost here about 60$ more than the cans I've listed. And DT150 are not my kind of design

If someone could link to/write a short describtion of differences between (or at least cross out some of them):
-Ultrasone HFI 780
-Ultrasone DJ1 Pro
-Audio Technica ES7
-Audio Technica ATH-M50
-Beyerdynamic DT 770 (or Pro)
-Beyerdynamic DT 880
-Sennheiser HD25-II
-Klipsch Image X10

I would be very grateful

I haven't heard these, but how about the Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9A? I'm not sure where you're located, but they're just slightly over your budget at $219 (buydig) with free shipping.

You'll find lots of information about them here, so I won't repeat what's been said. I would also like to second TreeTribe's ATH-M50 recommendation.
