I'm looking for a DAC or a DAC/AMP to go with my computer as I'm currently using the onboard sound thing. I just got a pair of ATH 50Ms and I'm looking for something to compliment them I guess. I want to spend around $200 but can go slightly over if need be. I'm not sure if I need an AMP/DAC or just a DAC (bit of a noob) :D cheers

If you want something that can be used at your desk and also portable then consider the fiio e17. It's really a great sounding kit @ $139 if you can find it.

For dedicated desktop amps look at the Audio GD nfb 12. Also the Maverick Audio Tube Magic d1.

gL!!

I've had my uDAC-2 for quite some time, and it has never disappointed me.  Has a built-in amp, is quiet, and has RCA inputs if you want another, dedicated amp.  $129.

Audioengine D1. Price/quality ratio is good.

Steve Guttenberg, wrote in his cnet blog review thingy, that Fiio E10 stomps D1. Then he continued that E17 sounds even better than E10.

I don't know, SG uses *his* ears more than anything else. May not be the same for you.

Take a look at the HA-info U2 plus or the O2/Odac combo.
