Once again, thank you all for your help.

I'm gonna go for them!

I know they're not a complete upgrade over the HD600s. But they sound like they'll be a good complement when my wife's asleep, and I can always use the HD600s when I'm lazing in bed and she doesn't mind a bit of noise pollution.

And if they really don't sound quite right for me, there's always a bit of leeway with Kees' mods.
