Do these rest on the ear or around the ear?  thanks.

Around the ear if your ear are small enough. My ear are quite big so I could just squeeze them inside if I wanted to but to get the best sound and benefit from the S-Logic I found that the bottom of the pad has to rest on my ear lob a bit. Remember you need to take time experimenting with positioning before you can get the best out of it. Nevertheless I found them very comfortable.

I had the 750's for a while; my ears fit inside of them.  However, I did find them highly uncomfortable to wear for extended periods.  The pressure exerted by the pads (and they aren't very soft) was uneven and gave me headaches.
