Hi i am going to buy a new pair of headphones this is going to be my 1st (hi fi) buy.
I stoped between the pro 2900 and the Q701,i listen to power/heavy metal.
Can some one help me decide the pro 2900 i can buy for 250 euro from a local store,the Q701 will cost me 328 euro (from thomann)

250 euros for the Pro 2900 is a great deal. They handle metal very well, and overall it's a deal worth getting.

Will you have a dedicated amp? If not, I would go for the Pro 2900. I used to own a 900 (basically the closed version of the 2900) and I found it sounded fine out of an iphone. Q701 might sound good too but I thought all AKGs I tried (550 and 702 anniversary) needed an good amp to impress me.

I you do have an amp, then it will really come down to personal preference.

Id also like to add that the price you quoted for the 2900 is a good price but the Q701 price is way high.

I will be using my Asus essence ST for now (planing on getting an amp some ting like the M-stage,but when i have the money for that 1st ting is 1st )
