Does anyone have any experiences with these or a price-range for them?

I went to edition7.com and they didn't have any actual pictures of the cans themselves and require e-mailing ultrasone for any information aside from the brief introduction to them.

They're being advertised as the 'best closed headphone system.'
Coming from the company who created the 650's, I'd be lead to believe that.

I got an e-mail from him with the announcement of the Edition7, and I just ordered one...

... but I've ordered some more information from Ultrasone and would like to know how it looks like and the technical features. I don't think I can afford it, and besides I'm in the process of getting familiar with the HD 650 -- and I doubt in can be surpassed...

wow...looks nice....well, the earcups....I take it they're closed? they should've made a more comfortable headband...that one looks the same as the one used for the HFI-500/550/650/700 family....

Hmmm... looks kinda smallish (= like with a bit more than Grado-sized earcups). Could this be a supra-aural design?

I can't say I like its looks better than W2002's or R10's. Actually, I like the looks of the L3000 more than the Edition 7.

For the price the headband should at least be carbon fiber.

The cups seem more square(right-angled) than the current Ultrasones.

That would've been an awesome April fools type thing for November, it is one of my *old* friend's birthday today.

I'd have to say that the headpad looks real bad...likely to be dirty REALLY fast.

Wow. They look like a shiny HFI-650 with mismatched colors. Crappy. I think what really bugs me is the gigantic Ultrasone logos on the cups. I wouldn't pay that much just to be a walking advertisement.

The Edition7 is a state-of-the-art closed headphone that is being build in a limited edition of 999 pieces. The MRSP in Germany is EUR 2690,-.

I would probably want a bit more than something shaped like an HFI-650 with different earcups if I was paying that much.
