Other items that impress me at there: Sony MDR 1A and Philips X2
 
Little impression about them:
- Sony 1A has very similar to MDR 1R in term of exterior, but the A series definitely has upgrade quality in sound, it's cleaner, even more spacious, but still sounds full bodied and extra smooth. Tonality wise the A version slight more v-shape sounding compare to 1R.
- Philips X2 also has similar housing to philips X1, but with much comfortable headband (doesn't have high pressure on top of head), better midrange focus, more controlled bass, and still has that spacious sounding ala X1.
