I work CNC embroidering machine and that means rattle of ~85-90db most of my work day.
My HD448's are useless at keeping noise out, my supertight HD1500's are dead so, need replacement.
 
Need something to lessen noise and play some music via Samsung Galaxy S2.
Good oldfashioned isolation is preferred to "noise cancelling" nonsense.
 
Any suggestions ?

The Sony MDR V6 is a "classic"; an all-around good sounding, comfortable, well made headphone
that isolates well.  It's widely used in recording studios.
You can find it brand new for around $60. or so, but watch out for counterfeits.

True.  IEM's are best for noise isolation.
(They're just not generally on my radar...)

IEMs are out of the question - i'm one of those that get irritated more than usual by foreign objects in my body. Over ears only plz...
 
Also, 60$ budget is acceptable.

Get a Nu-Force 600X in-earphones (sound magic e10 is an option) both are good sounding device on a below $50 price range... you can add additional isolation by combining it with a Comply Ear Plug classic which is cheaper than it's isolation and comfort siblings... Noise-cancellation type earphones are a bit heavy on the budget.
