Hi guys.
Thanks to the great level of interest, this is shaping up to be a superb meet!
------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES
-- Please bring along enough power sockets to cover your rig, and an extension lead if possible. Assume you'll have one socket provided. if you have any extras & have the space, please do bring along additional spare power blocks & extension leads in case others don't bring enough.
-- Please read the MEET ETIQUETTE GUIDELINES. Let's ensure everyone's gear finishes the day in the same condition as it started.
-- Due to increasing numbers, it's been agreed that only Head-Fi members who express their intention of attending on this thread, will be admitted on the day. We'll have a entry/exit presence on the day to check people into the meet. For brand new Headfi members, registering just for the meet, please send me a PM once you're registered on the forum with your intention to attend so I can ascertain an identity. As I'm sure you'll understand, with a meet of this type, we do have to be cautious.
------------------------------------------------------------
We have a sponsor!
Head-Fi forum sponsor HiFi Headphones have offered to attend and sponsor the meet! I've spoken with Shaun of HiFi Headphones and he's really enthusiastic about taking part, and will bring along a selection of their products for us to play with. Shaun has generously offered to pay the conference room booking fee, essentially making this meet free of charge for the rest of us.
Date
Saturday 7th November 2009, 9am to midnight (we can access the room as early as we like on the Sat morning to set up).
Depending on how the day goes & how much time exhibitors feel they have had to mingle, we may close the doors at 5 or 6pm so that just those bringing kit can enjoy a relaxed evening without worrying about watching their table like a hawk. We can play this by ear on the day.
Venue
Days hotel, Manchester (close to Manchester Piccadilly train station)
I've booked the conference rooms Weston Room II and III for Saturday Nov 7th, 9am to midnight, at a cost of £200 (our sponsor is kindly covering the cost of the room). The rooms are adjacent to each other, with a small sofa/coffee area in between, essentially making it one large suite. Tables will be arranged around the edges of the rooms, with lots of space in the middle for moving around. Tea, coffee & biscuits will be provided at approx 11am. Outside of that, the hotel has a bar just down the corridor for beer/wine/tea/coffee/snacks etc. The room will be available to us pretty much as early as we want it on Saturday morning to setup. A few particularly keen members (including me
will be in there early to ensure everything is set up correctly. Some of us are planning on staying over at the hotel on Friday and/or Saturday night. The hotel is now fully booked for Saturday night but there are loads of other hotels in Manchester city centre. One worth trying for starters would be the Ibis, just around the corner from the Days Inn.
